11 former Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) student-athletes have captured medals at the 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.
The tournament took place August 11-16 in Brno, Czechia and Trencin, Slovakia with Team USA capturing gold, while Team Canada took home bronze.
The two countries met in the semi-finals with Mathis Preston tying the game late to force overtime, and eventually, a shootout. Team USA would come out on top with a 4-3 win before beating Team Sweden 5-3 in the gold medal game. Team Canada would go on to defeat Team Finland 3-0 to secure bronze.
